Ordered to Return Cops to Duty

Despite the investigation into corruption in the police department, King county Superior Court Judge Patrick Oishi ordered Pacific Mayor Cy Sun to return two suspended police officers to duty on Friday, May 10.

According to the Auburn Reporter, “Massey and Calkins were placed on paid administrative leave by Sun on March 22, pending the outcome of an investigation into claims of intimidation and harassment with another city employee.”

“At the hearing on Friday, Sun's attorney Tyler Firkins, argued that the officers were not suspended for disciplinary reasons, merely placed on leave for their safety and the safety of the other city employee being investigated in the harassment and intimidation matter.”

Vote NO Recall

On June 25, you, as citizens of the City of Pacific, have a decision to make.

Mayor Cy Sun was elected to clean up what he, and many citizens, saw as corruption in the City of Pacific. He was aware of the mishandling of finances, mis-use of city credit cards, cash that could not be accounted for, bank accounts with no public accountability, and more. Mayor Cy was elected to clean up this corruption.

This blog is an attempt to bring to the public issues that the Mayor has tried to deal with. There have been investigations that have been covered up. There are financial matters that have not been accounted for. There have been false charges made that have not had a proper hearing nor response.

In the pages following, for the next few weeks, we will try to illustrate what Mayor Cy has been trying to accomplish. We will document these issues as best we can. We want you to be informed, and then to vote.

It will take time for Mayor Cy to accomplish what he was elected to do. There are those with vested interests who do not want to see him successful. They have filed this recall election and want to see him driven out of office. This is an attempt to
help you understand what is happening, and perhaps why…and give you good reason to vote “NO” on the recall election.
